2.    Choose “Restore a backup copy” button and click Next:

3.    Choose Local backup if you stored your backup file locally. Choose Online backup if you subscribed to fee-based online backup service. In this example, we assume the local backup is used. Click Next to open “Open Backup Copy” dialog box to select your backup copy from CD, flash drive, or other storage.

 

4.    Once you selected your backup file, an Open or Restore Company File dialog box opens:

5.    Click Next to choose the location where you want to restore the file to .QBW working file.

6.    Click Save. If you are restoring a working file that already exists, the program will warn you that you are going to overwrite the existing file. If this is what you want (because of damaged file or other reason), click Yes.

If you click Yes, QuickBooks will warn you one more time that you are going to permanently delete the data file. If you are sure, type Yes in the box provided and click OK.

If you don’t want to restore to a working file that already exist, click No and change the data path/directory/storage of the file or change the file name.

7.    Once successful, QuickBooks will give you a message
